![]() It might be the case, since they're still putting out "new" versions of the PIXMA All-in-one printers. So there is some info for you, if you also have my problem, until Canon issues an upgraded version of their software. The former doesn't launch, the latter does, it and it works so far for scanning and saving documents, pictures, etc. I downloaded and installed that, and it has two apps it installs, one called MP Navigator EX 3.1 Opener, and one called MP Navigator EX 3.1. Instead, I worked backward through the software versions Canon offered for the different Mac OSX versions, and nothing was listed for Sierra or High Sierra, but with El Capitan, there was MP Navigator EX 3.1.5. ![]() The Canon website is not helpful here as to an answer or a current download to fix it. I read the thread here about this with other Canon printers, and yes, through System Prefs>Printers and Scanners I can scan with the printer, and modify some settings (such as resolution dpi), but it's not as nice as the Canon software. I use that software for scanning, and it has loads of nice features. You can also save scanned images, attach them to e-mail or edit/print them. Using MP Navigator EX you can scan multiple documents at one time, or scan images larger than the platen. You can also edit images, or attach images to e-mail. Since I upgraded to High Sierra, the Canon software doesn't launch-no reason given (and I can't understand the error report the Mac creates to send to Apple). This application software allows you to scan, save and print photos and documents. My Canon Printer/Copier/Scanner is MX870 and my MP Navigator EX v. I see that others have had this problem with other Canon printers.
